It was designed of the distinguished artist Sir Charles Lanyon. The picturesque conservatory, also by Lanyon, was added c.1870. The Restoration of Ballywalter Park has been ongoing for many years, having commenced in the late 1950s - early 1960s. In the late 2000s the project to restore of the conservatory at the main house was undertaken. The family wanted to keep as many of the original design features as much as possible. Directly because of Armatile’s surface design expertise and level of understanding in this field of historical restoration it was appointed to work with Contractor HJ O’Boyle on the sympathetic renovation project. Utilising its design expertise and manufacturing capabilities Armatile employed its waterjet cutting capabilities to create radial borders and features for the new floor areas. On site, one of the most significant challenges included preparing the substrate for the installation of the tiles, ensuring the long term integrity and sustainability of the completed project. Images have been added to this project, showing the storyboard of such a historical and delightful building.
