Name: Oisín McKeown
Role: Credit Control
How long have you been at Armatile?
I’ve just started in the last two weeks and am the newest member of the team in the Head Office in Armagh.
Describe the duties you’ll be undertaking as part of your new role
Primarily, I have responsibility for ensuring outstanding invoices get paid as soon as possible, which means reaching out to the customer and coordinating those payments. Once that is done and all ticked off, then I can allocate the funds accordingly. It’s an important part of the inner workings of a business!
What skills are you developing as part of your training in Armatile?
Task-Management and organisation are the big ones that I’m developing during my training so far. I’m always happy to learn and use a new computer system. SAGE 1000 is the main program I’ll be using in my role but already I’m increasing my IT literacy with MS Office packages and others.
What aspect of your new role are you looking most forward to?
I’m happy to chat to the customers and building up a strong professional relationship with them and helping them sort their payments and allocating funds.
What would you say to someone considering a career with Armatile?
It’s a nice place to work. The other members of staff have been very friendly, and the number of different tasks you might get in a day, so you will be kept busy.
What’s your favourite film?
Airplane!
And your favourite meal?
My Ma’s homemade Irish Stew with some bread and butter. Can’t beat it.
