Armatile, the leading retailer and distributor of tiles in Ireland, require an Area Sales Manager to service an extensive existing customer base and develop new business with tile retailers and specifiers in the Republic of Ireland.

General Information

The ideal candidate should have experience in distribution sales and/or in a construction related or specification sales role. You will have responsibility for identifying new business opportunities within a targeted and specified market segment and tasked to create strong long-term customer relationships. You will be proactive, self-motivated and enjoy the challenge of promoting products and concepts to a targeted, vibrant and ever-changing sector of the market.


Job Description

Main duties and responsibilities would include:

  • Develop business with existing and new clients including; tile retailers and distributors, architects,designers, developers and trade customers
  • Promote Armatile’s unique design and manufacturing service to existing and new clients
  • Liaise closely with marketing, design, production and administration teams to identify, develop and exploit sales opportunities
  • Liaise with marketing and sales teams to devise effective marketing strategies and improve existing marketing techniques
  • Set and achieve sales targets
  • Attend presentations, networking events and trade exhibitions
  • Formally report to Managing Director, to present data with regard to sales won/lost, quotations given, work in progress, competitor activity, sales and business opportunities and other relevant business information
  • Maintain customer and company databases
  • Submit reports to time deadlines

Person Specification

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Full clean driving license
  • IT skills to include working knowledge of word, excel and email
  • Must be self-motivated, organised and have good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively on your own as well as part of a dynamic creative team
  • Ability to problem solve and be creative when dealing with customers and co-workers
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial capabilities and the ability to win sales
  • Must be flexible to work when and where required

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Experience of sales in the tile industry or related industry, e.g. wooden flooring, carpets, vinyl etc.
  • Experience in distribution sales and/or in a construction related or specification sales role
  • Design qualification or experience working in a design environment
  • Educated to degree level
