Due to increasing customer demand and significant investment and expansion in a new 25,000 square foot showroom and distribution warehouse in Dublin, we are seeking an extraordinary Area Sales Manager to grow our existing presence in the southern Irish market.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following duties in their role as Distribution Sales Management of territories in Republic of Ireland including Leinster, Munster and Connaught. Responsibilities include, but are not exclusive to;

  • Driving to clients to carry out face-to-face visits to further develop/create working relationships with customers
  • Developing and growing business with new and existing customers via other channels
  • Achieving and increasing of sales targets
  • Planning and organising strategies that facilitate sales growth; sales visit plans, effective customer product presentations etc.
  • Effective customer merchandising
  • Maintain a high level of Armatile product knowledge, and actively train and provide new and existing product information to colleagues and clients that work with Armatile products.
  • Promote and increase sales of Armatile’s unique Design & Manufacturing services
  • Liaising with Marketing, sales and admin teams to identify, develop and successfully exploit sales opportunities
  • Supplying relevant market information on product trends, prices, competitor information, customer requirements etc.
  • Attending presentations, networking events and trade exhibitions when required
  • Reporting formally, in writing, to the Managing Director at regular agreed intervals, regarding customer and competitor information/activity, sales won/lost, work in progress, sales and business opportunities and other relevant business information
  • Keeping accurate & timely records, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Person Specification


  • Full clean driving license
  • IT skills to include working knowledge of word, excel and email
  • Must be self-motivated, organised and have good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively on your own as well as part of a dynamic creative team
  • Ability to problem solve and be creative when dealing with customers and co-workers
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial capabilities and the ability to win sales
  • Must be flexible to work when and where required


  • Experience of sales in the tile industry or related industry, e.g. wooden flooring, carpets, vinyl etc.
  • Experience in distribution sales and/or in a construction related or specification sales role
  • Design qualification or experience working in a design environment
  • Educated to degree level
